Easy Weeknight Pizza
Pizza Crust
1 cup warm water
1 tablespoon granulated white sugar
1 tablespoon active dry yeast
2 (+ extra) cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tsp + fine sea salt
Optional but recommended: 1 tablespoon basil, 1/2 tablespoon oregano.
Add 1 cup warm water (not hot!), yeast, and sugar in bowl and let become bubbly for 5 minutes or so.
Add in olive oil, 2 cups of flour, salt, and herbs.
Mix with a dough hook on low, or knead by hand or wooden spoon.
Add up to 1/2 cup extra flour to form dough ball that is only slightly sticky.
Drizzle olive oil in bowl, place dough and cover in a warm space for 10-30 minutes to rise (or up to 1 hour - you can customize based on time needs and how hungry you are, you technically don't have to let it rise at all but I usually do at least 30 minutes).
Spread dough out on parchment paper, top with favorite toppings. Don't make the pizza dough too thin, or toppings too heavy. Make sure all meat is cooked thoroughly.
Slide pizza (on parchment paper) onto preheated pizza stone (in the oven), or bake on a cookie sheet!
450F for 13-17 minutes or until golden brown.
Easy Tomato Pizza Sauce
1 can diced tomatoes (or tomato sauce)
1 small can tomato paste
1-2 tbsp of each: Italian seasoning, oregano, basil (fresh or dried).
1 tsp garlic (minced or powder)
1 tsp onion powder
t tsp white sugar
cracked black pepper, salt
Add all ingredients to a food processor or blender. Wala! Sauce :) Add more seasonings to taste.
