Hello, I'm Kayla!
"I've found my superpower in working with people who experience chronic pain and autoimmune issues, and teaching you ways to be able to move, nourish, and care for your body as a friend would. I love teaching people a new world away from diet culture: where we enjoy our food, lift heavy weights, and focus on how our bodies feel and perform for us every day."

Growing up I loved to be active, but ending up injuring my hip with a bad slip-and-fall my senior year of high school. I stopped running, sports, dancing, hiking... and the pain disabled me for nearly two years, which only worsened the chronic low back pain I had already been experiencing.
After moving away from home and becoming quite depressed the first few years, I began to explore how to move my body without pain. I took a mat Pilates class for broken Veterans and perinatal hip/back pain... and it completely changed my life. I eventually discovered strength training-- and it was my light at the end of the tunnel. I loved how strong it made me feel, and it allowed me to feel at home in my body again. I've had some ups and downs with chronic pain, and I understand how frustrating it can feel like your body is a strange--or even an enemy at times. After training clients for over a decade in Southern California, the move to Montana helped me discover my passion for food and nutrition in a way I hadn't had before. I've had a long journey to get to where I am with my relationship, and access, to food (ep. 52 on Fed Up podcast). |
When I'm not in the gym, you can find me exploring Montana's inspiring landscapes and saying hello to all the animals, spending QT with my honeys and my beautiful nieces, working on homework or research, or baking cakes for my other business: Little Cottage Montana :)
I am currently pursuing my Master's degree in Dietetics, which will include 1200 supervised hours in a Dietetic internship before I can qualify to take the exam to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist.
